Blackberries

Anyone who lives or has lived in western WA knows about the blackberries. They are everywhere! They are a noxious weed that chokes out everything they can, creating huge areas of thorny brambles. Come the end of the summer though, they do one little thing that redeems them around here. And that is produce enormous amounts of yummy, juicy blackberries! The kids love them, and we have a great patch right down the road. These pictures are from the end of August. We went blackberry picking last night as well and I think it will be the last good pick of the year. Fall is arriving quick!
